The annual local mega sport event – 64th Festival of Sport (FOS), which was organized by the Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC) and subvented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, had concluded successfully earlier. With the support of National Sports Associations (NSAs), new online and various physical events and activities were held from April 2021 onwards to encourage the public to participate actively in sports to maintain good health physically and mentally through new experience, bring people closer together and unite the community by sports under “new normal”.

Hong Kong’s debut Virtual Sports Carnival
Hong Kong’s debut Virtual Sports Carnival were held from April to July 2021. There were abundant programmes available for the public from all ages and sectors to participate, including 20 virtual sports exhibition booths, introduction of NSAs, sports demonstration, as well as the online interactive chats with Hong Kong athletes.

Festival of Sport events co-organized by the National Sports Associations
Over 30 FOS events were co-organized by NSAs from April to July 2021. Grassroots Football Festival and Summer Rowing Festival were the signature events. These events had set up various games and trial booths for kids and families to enjoy by playing sports, together to uplift the sporting atmosphere. Exhibition Tour
From May to August 2021, Exhibition Tour was held at 5 different shopping malls, which introduced the FOS events and showcased various pieces of Olympic collectables. Public could view these collections and get to know more about the Olympic history and development of sports in Hong Kong. School Visit by Hong Kong Athletes
On 24 June 2021, three FOS Ambassadors LEE Ka Man, Yvette KONG and CHAN Ming Tai, together with Hong Kong Baseball and Softball athletes, visited Sharon Lutheran School to promote FOS and introduce the new Olympic sports (baseball / softball) to the students, distribute FOS souvenirs and encourage them to be active while welcoming the Olympic Games.
